Scars Publications (and both literary magazines) currently have chapbook considerations for publication on hiatus. Check back with this page for when we resume considering individual chapbook releases.

Welcome to the chapbook center; click on any year to find chapbooks (sorted by date published). Chapbook are available as either a web page link for browsing and reading, or as an e-book/PDF file (and some are even available as both!).

While chapbook production may be on hiatus, chapbooks of live poetry performances from the staff at Scars Publications may be released in conjunction with live shows, and shared here..

All accepted chapbooks submitted to Scars Publications will be released on line as a free downloadable PDF file (as Scars Publications has consistently done for years). They will not be available for print chapbook sale, but will be considered for potential publication in annual Scars Publications collection book releases. In the past (2011-2014) Scars has maintained that if a chapbook accepted is long enough, it may also be released as a physical ISBN# book (even if submitted as a magazine submission, which normally receives the magazine’s ISSN#).

Starting in 2011: Whether or not many chapbooks are submitted for consideration by any author, only one chapbook from any author will be released in any year.

Scars Publications has in the past converted some chapbooks to 6x9 perfect-bound ISBN# books. But starting in 2013, as a rule Scars Publications will not release additional books from new chapbooks from people who have already had books published in this fashion from Scars Publications. (For example,
if someone had a chapbook published through Scars Publications in 2011 that was also released as an ISBN# perfect-bound book, they will not have the option from Scars to have any additional chapbook manuscripts to also be released as a book.) It is far too expensive and time-consuming for Scars to release these books, so we will not do this for authors repeatedly. We can release additional chapbooks from people, but only one book would be released in this fashion.

In addition to releasing free PDF files of chapbooks, Scars Publications also offers to all accepted writers (as an additional free service) their writing posted in the writings section of http://scars.tv, which is probably a very popular service in our publishing options, because every accepted writer can have their writing expressly on their own web page to show to friends... Scars Publications does everything they can to offer many services to accepted writers, but because we have to pay all in house costs for these free services (and we would have to pay for for printer issues just like everyone else), Scars does not offer free print copies to contributors — accepted writers can order copies through our printers if they are interested in a print copy of the releases.
