I watch my son put his video card to bed. . .
he ever-so-gently cradles the silicone head--
Of its’ treasure and delights--he NEVER tires
’booting up’ games eternally--hours!!
Then dismantling it carefully from its slot--
he coddles, cuddles it into its box--
(I tell him all computers may soon go to rot!)
He then towels the microchipped babe to its nest,
’comfort zones’ for both! and this be life’best?’
Ne’er for ANYthing has he shown such care!
babying that inert plastic there!
Clearly--this is where his treasured heart must be:
would that he show SOME concern for me!
(and real value see!)
a forgotten mom of ’video addictions’
(alas! today’s kids’ secret affliction?)
