After a while, you get tired of coming up with names for bands. Well, at least Janet Kuypers did... After a while, it occurred to her that she could learn how to play instruments, and she could learn how to edit music on the computer after she was finished with recording. So she did.
Janet Kuypers worked with the likes of Matt Weedman (from Weeds and Flowers), as well as Warren Peterson and Brian Hosey (Mom’s Favorete Vase). People like Lisa Parker and Eugene Peppers helped her out with creativity, in vocals, drums and on the guitar. So... She decided to try some of it herself.
Janet has covered the Smiths to Sinead O’Connor to... Well, even the likes of Paul Simon, with Weeds and Flowers. With Mom’s Favorete Vase, she covered anything from Nirvana to the Eurythmics to... Yes, it’s true, even George Michael and R.E.M. ...
Latest work with The Second Axing has brought them to Florida, Myrtle Beach, Pennsylvania and Hawaii to record songs from additional artists like Depeche Mode, Peter Gabriel, the Sinatras, Leonard Cohen, the Church, the Smoking Popes, Fiona Apple, The Might be Giants, The The, or the Beatles.
When not working with others, she plays the guitar or does voice sampling with classic songs, picking out additional tunes from the likes of Elton John or Madonna, throwing in a sprinkling of Alanis Morissette, Pearl Jam, Wham!, Erasure, Shriekback, Tracey Chapman, New Order, or even remixing Jerry Rafferty.
